Lita Kelmenson is a sculptor who, working with wood, invents three dimensional forms which both mystify and beg meaning. Her work engages with current social issues to stimulate concerns within the viewer. Rather than overt depictions these organic structures present a query. Her work has been exhibited in New York City, Long Island and the East Coast. Favorable reviews have appeared in THE NEW YORK TIMES, NEWSDAY and Craft Horizons. One of her works is part of the NAWA permanent collection of the J. V. Zimmerli Museum on the campus of Rutgers Un. She has also taught in both the public school systems and at local colleges as an adjunct assoc. professor.
