Language has a tremendous impact upon our view of the world and our experience of it. That is especially true in relation to our efforts to understand and follow ethical ideals and principles. Language provides the possibility to communicate with other people and achieve a common understanding. Language also limits the range of our thinking and constrains avenues of communication. In this address Ethical Culture Leader, Bart Worden, sifted through some of the beneficial and challenging aspects of how our use of words can help us live ethical lives.
Bart Worden has been the Executive Director of the American Ethical Union, the national federation of Ethical Culture and Ethical Humanist Societies, since 2012. Bart is, in addition, the Clergy Leader for the Ethical Culture Society of Westchester, and is a Social Worker who has worked with programs that help people recover from psychiatric disability.
