This training introduced participants to substance use disorders and provided an overview of new trends in substance use, what’s changed and what hasn’t. Training also discussed techniques for engaging young people today and how culture influences adolescent perceptions and behaviors. Intervention and prevention strategies were also discussed. Participants increased their general knowledge regarding substance abuse, current trends, engaging young people around substance use and the influence of today’s culture on current trends and bio-psycho-social development.
