To care for anyone else enough
to make their problems one's own,
is ever the beginning of one's
real ethical development.

Community Outreach

EHSLI works in collaboration with other community groups. We sponsor the Our Times Coffeehouse of the Long Island Progressive Coalition. We collect food for the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN).  We have hosted a used bike drive for the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, and a book drive for needy families.

Our most recent collaboration is with the American Humanist Association as an official chapter. Meetings take place on the last Tuesday of the month, at 7 p.m., from September through June. We get together to support the work of the AHA, particularly with issues of the separation of church and state. We welcome new participants to join us!
