To care for anyone else enough
to make their problems one's own,
is ever the beginning of one's
real ethical development.

Education

We believe that the foundation of an ethical and moral life begins with how we treat others and what we contribute to the community.

Our Kids Ethics Program is inspired by the motto, Deed before Creed.

In class, the children develop vital critical thinking skills through discussion, stories and projects.  Subjects pertinent to their lives such as kindness, fairness and respect in their relationships are an intrinsic part of the curriculum.

In addition, they take part in community service projects, which help children less fortunate than themselves.

If you are looking for an alternative to traditional religion for yourself and your family, the Ethical Humanist Society is the place for you.

Classes are held for children aged 6 to 12.

alyssa-kidsAfter age 13, students move up into our teen group, Youth of Ethical Societies, or YES. They discuss and plan activities centering around one or two major issues of importance to them and participate in social action projects. The teens run the group themselves, with supervision from adult advisors.
